In this week’s Newsday, Peter Gianotti reviews J.A. Heneghan's Tavern in Point Lookout, a “busy, friendly spot, with very good beers on tap.” He praises chef Nicole Roarke’s “refined take on pub cuisine, which expands to include some Italian and New American dishes” including “first-class” New England clam chowder, a juicy Dijon mustard-crusted pork chop and pan-roasted red snapper, crowned with a “caponata” of red beets, accented with Kalamata olives, capers, orange zest and basil orzo.

Joan Reminick visits Zinburger, the “boutique-style new burger spot at the amped-up Walt Whitman Shops” in Huntington Station. Despite the loud music and shouted conversation, she enjoyed zucchini fries, chili and burgers on tall, soft brioche buns and “the juicy grilled chicken sandwich, which, like everything on the menu, may be topped to order.”
