Marc Bynum, chef-owner of 3-star Hush Bistro in Farmingdale, will be featured on the premiere of the new Cooking Channel show "Holy & Hungry" on Sunday, Aug. 23. Hosted by comedian Sherri Shepherd (co-host of ABC's "The View" from 2007 to 2014), the show focuses on "amazing places and people whose love for cooking is combined with a profound passion for their faith."
Bynum, a Newsday All-Star chef and two-time Food Network "Chopped" champion, has been working in restaurant kitchens since the age of 15 and, before he opened Hush earlier this year, had served as executive chef at Rookie's Sports Bar in Huntington and Tellers in Islip as well as consulting on projects on Long Island and New York City.
Somehow he has also found time to preach at Greater Works Apostolic Ministries in Central Islip where his aunt, Joan Hicks, is senior pastor.
"Holy & Hungry" premieres at 10 p.m. on Aug. 23 and can also be seen at 2 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Aug. 26.
