Welcome fall with pumpkin ale at Left Coast Kitchen and Cocktails.

The Merrick gastropub plans a five-course dinner on Sept. 20 featuring a different pumpkin ale with each course. The cost is $55 per person plus tax and tip. Reservations recommended.

Chef Chris Randell's menu includes hamachi sashimi with a Japanese green pumpkin croquette; an "apple cider salad" with roasted apples, frisee and goat cheese  finished with a cider vinaigrette; "pumpkin pie" scallops with butternut squash puree and whipped creme fraiche; "Thanksgiving lamb" with pumpkin bread stuffing; and a spiced flan with pumpkin brittle and molasses cream.

The pumpkin ales are from Southampton Publick House, Saranac Brewery, Shipyard Brewing, Southern Tier Brewing and Weyerbacher.

Left Coast Kitchen and Cocktails earned a two-star rating in Newsday earlier this year.
