Chef-owner Nader Gebrin said the kitchen will now cook food to temperature request. For those, like me, who can’t abide a well-done tuna steak, that may spell the difference between ordering the grilled fresh tuna sandwich or passing it up. Another new policy is to serve sauces on the side. I would hope that would mean goodbye to the crabcake sandwich of last summer, slathered with unwanted tartar sauce. I prefer to dab sauce on judiciously; a little goes a long way.
New items in Gebrin’s repertoire include a skirt steak Gorgonzola ($13.95), chicken Francese over linguine with mixed vegetables ($9.95) and seafood linguine pomodoro ($14.95). Gebrin said that non-fish items have become very popular, of late, especially the Southern fried chicken ($9.95).
Nader’s Fish on the Run is at 217 New York Ave., Huntington, 631-423-6300.
