There’s always something interesting (but complicated) going on with the peripatetic Frank Purita, owner of D’Latte in Greenport. Here goes:

In November, Purita expanded his gelato, coffee, pastry and prepare-food business, bringing in sushi chef Taka Meguro (formerly of Shiro in Carle Place) to offer raw fish.

Three weeks ago, Purita moved D'Latte to an adjacent building, which he connected to the old space by French doors. The former D'Latte space is now a Japanese restaurant called Sushi Sasuke Club. Meguro features on his menu whatever is running locally — fish such as tuna, fluke, blackfish and striped bass. He offers table service and outside patio dining.

Meanwhile, at D’Latte, where you can also eat outdoors, the gelato, breads, cookies, cakes and pastries are made on premises. Purita (whose wife, Claudia, owns One Woman Wines in Southold) sometimes gets a little help from well-credentialed friends — notably, Manhattan pâtissier François Payard.

D'Latte features live jazz Friday nights.

D’Latte is at 216 Main St., and Sasuke Sushi Club is at 218 Main St., Greenport, 631-477-6738 (shared phone),
