Get your food event calendar out; Saturday, Oct. 16, is the date of “A Taste of Port Jefferson,” which is shaping up to be an afternoon of much eating and drinking.
For $30 a person in advance ($35 at the door), you’ll get to sample food from a variety of restaurants (among them Amarelle in Wading River, Hurricane Grill & Wings in Port Jefferson Station and The Fifth Season in Port Jefferson). Bakeries, wineries and breweries will be taking part, as well.
Also on tap: Penn Hongthong, chef and author of “Simple Laotian Cooking,” will sign copies of her book and offer samples of her signature spring rolls.
The indoor festival will take place at the Village Center, 101A East Broadway, Port Jefferson. For more information and a complete list of participants, call 631-473-1414 or go online to atasteofportjefferson.com.
