Ara International Grille & Bar opened this week  in St. James.

The new eatery, under chef Dino Vlacich, offers lunch and dinner seven days. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. six days and to 11 p.m. on Saturday. Lunch dishes are in the $11 to $20 range; dinner, $15 to $30. Vlacich, who earned two stars at the departed Mio in Roslyn, also is associated with the new Bin 107 in St. James.

The menu includes starters such as fried Peruvian bay scallops with mustard sauce, espresso-rubbed pork filet mignon with caramelized onions and sweet potato cake, seared tuna with red-ginger aioli, Maryland-style crabcakes; and baked baby eggplant with ricotta, mozzarella and tomato sauce.

Main courses include roast duckling with orange sauce, herb-crusted rack of lamb, potato-wrapped roasted cod, panko-crusted tuna, cavatelli with meat sauce, and black linguine with shellfish in tomato sauce.
