Craving red meat but watching your bucks? You'll find a well-priced roundup at the new Cattlemen’s Steakhouse & Saloon in Port Jefferson Station, an offshoot of the Lindenhurst original. Look for it in the strip mall space last occupied by Rib City Ale House.
The menu in Port Jeff is identical to the one in Lindenhurst, although the newer place doesn’t have a smoker for its ribs, chicken and pulled pork. Executive chef Michael Kon said he is particularly proud of his jumbo Texas crab cakes ($10.99), made with 100 percent crab meat (claw and lump) and only the smallest amount of egg and bread crumbs to hold it together.
Also on the menu: a half pound burger for $7.99, a 14-ounce boneless rib-eye for $16.99, a 32-ounce porterhouse for $23.99) and broiled twin lobster tails for $19.99.
