A new branch of the Northport-based Cilantro Mexican Inspired Food is now composing tacos, burritos, fajitas and salads in the Huntington space last occupied by Wild Rocket.

Lots has changed since the original Cilantro opened last year, according to  owner Artie Burke, who collaborated with chef Christian Velasco on the current menu at both places, now equipped with convection ovens.

The setup is similar to the one at Chipotle Mexican Grill: order a burrito, a tortilla-free burrito bowl, tacos, fajita or salad, pick a protein and add some toppings. You can get soft corn, hard corn and flour tortillas. One special, the sloppy taco, features a grilled filled tortilla with toppings heaped upon it.

Protein possibilities include diced oven-roasted chicken (thighs rather than white meat, which dries out easily), sweet chipotle pork, marinated steak, ancho chili beef, turkey chili, veggie chili, beef chili and a vegetarian mélange of guacamole, black beans, veggie chili and peppers. You can fancy up your creation with a salsa or Yucatan-style pickled onions.  Prices range from $6.99 to $7.99.

Because of its downtown location and proximity to the Paramount Theater, the new restaurant is open until 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

Cilantro Mexican Inspired Food is at 376 New York Ave., Huntington, 631-923-3800, and at 40 Woodbine Ave. Northport,  631-651-9377,
