The former El Dorado Grill in Port Jefferson Station, reborn a few months ago as Road Trip American Ale House, is now called simply Road Trip.

According to owner Philip Krumpter, the place has been redecorated in an American ale house motif: polished wood surfaces, 45 flat-screen TVs and blowup photos of tourist attractions nationwide.  Which means that you can eat overlooking Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon or Niagara Falls.

On tap are 52 American beers  — but no imports. And, said Krumpter, every state in the nation is represented on the menu. Of course, you’ll find a Philly cheesesteak sandwich ($12.99) as well as Maryland crabcakes ($11.99). There's also a Chicago wedge salad ($7.99), New Orleans jambalaya ($15.99), a Las Vegas pit boss burger with hand-cut fries ($12.99) and a Hazzard County BBQ platter ($19.99) with slow-cooked (but not smoked) brisket, pulled pork, baby back ribs, a house-made cornbread muffin and sweet potato fries.

The piece de resistance, though, is the American junk food burrito ($10.99) stuffed with mozzarella sticks, potato skins, cheese sauce, bacon, chicken fingers, macaroni and cheese and ranch dressing.  “People order it like its going out of style,” said Krumpter.

Road Trip is at 4837 Nesconset Hwy, Port Jefferson Station, 631-473-8525,
