The once-dormant wood-burning oven at the old Tupelo Honey space in Sea Cliff is once more blazing, turning out pizza and more at the site's new incarnation, Metropolitan Bistro.
The restaurant is owned by William Long (a partner at The Metropolitan, a catering house in Glen Cove) and his wife Anita, who designed the renovated space. Chef James Lotker also comes from The Metropolitan.
On Lotker's New American menu: pan-seared Chatham cod with spinach and lemongrass beurre blanc and roast LI duck with cashews and ginger orange gastrique. A burger? For sure. Wood-grilled, at that.
Entrees are priced from $17 to $26.
