Doesn't it seem as though every week a new Asian fusion or pan-Asian restaurant pops up somewhere on Long Island? Here are a few that distinguish themselves.

LEMONGRASS THAI & CHINESE RESTAURANT, 2710 Long Beach Rd., Oceanside, 516-280-2277

In airy, spacious digs, you'll find a bi-culinary menu that accommodates both wonton soup and tom kha gai, lo mein and pad Thai. Standouts include a first-rate chicken coconut soup and fresh Chinese black pepper egg noodles with beef.

RUBY ASIAN FUSION & SUSHI BAR, 8285 Jericho Tpke., Woodbury, 516-224-4660

At this sleek shopping center spot, the sushi is fine, the Asian kitchen repertoire a cut above. Standouts include short ribs with spicy miso tangerine glaze, grilled Vietnamese pork chops and spicy garlic chicken.

FANCY LEE, 101 W. Main St., Babylon, 631-422-6505

This friendly Asian-fusion spot is always bustling. Credit such dishes as the flaky Indian roti pancake with coconut chicken curry sauce, delectable ganga duck roll and, from the sushi bar, a winning king salmon carpaccio. The flaming toban yaki clay pot beef is a showstopper.

SUSHI REPUBLIC, 3365 Hillside Ave., New Hyde Park, 516-747-3377

Here, the look is serene, with pretty wood dividers framing the expansive space to give the illusion of private dining nooks. The food more than satisfies, with notables including Thai curry seafood soup, rife with shrimp and scallops; a jalapeño yummy roll, with peppered tuna and yellowtail; and red snapper with black bean sauce and baby bok choy.
