You'll find "plenty of panache -- on the plate" at Singha Thai in West Babylon, Joan Reminick writes in this week's Cheap Eats column. Giving the restaurant two-and-a-half stars, she recommends the tom kha gai, pad Thai and spicy basil duck with pepper, onion, scallion and chili paste, above, among other dishes.

Chef Elio Sobrero, formerly of La Primavera in East Hills and Capriccio in Jericho, brings the "nostalgic and new" to Cafe Capriccio in Port Washington, Peter Gianotti writes in today's Newsday. Gianotti touts the restaurant's gray sole in a mellow sauce of vermouth and cream, duck with cherry sauce, sirloin steak au poivre, and a "crisp and tender pork chop," along with other selections.
