Boats will replace cars in the space formerly occupied by Joe’s Garage in Riverhead. The River Walk Bar and Grille will be celebrating its grand opening from Friday to Sunday, debuting new nautical décor and a menu focused on seafood.
Co-owner Steve Glauber said the black Garage walls have been painted blue, with a light blue ceiling to match. “It’s a much brighter, lighter atmosphere,” he says. Tables in an indoor-outdoor seating area overlook the water just steps away.
His partner John Molesi, the longtime chef and manager of Eastport’s Triangle Pub, will be in charge of the kitchen. In addition to seafood specialties including seafood scampi, linguini alfredo with shrimp, and lobster rolls, there will be a lot of pub fare — burgers, steaks, and chicken Caesar salad. Prices are modest — $10 for a burger and fries — and there will be a kids’ menu featuring chicken fingers, burgers and grilled cheese.
Glauber is also envisioning a lively bar scene, with drink specials and local beers on tap.
