Trattoria Diane, which took a Roman holiday this year and specializes in the city's cuisine, is offering a three-course, fixed-price dinner on Sundays. Cost: $29.95 plus tax and tip.
Appetizer selections include the house's fine sweet-sour butternut squash with mint and Brussels sprouts with lemon and pecorino cheese; roasted figs with Gorgonzola cheese, prosciutto and arugula; fried artichokes with lemon; meatballs with tomato-rosemary sauce; and arancini, or rice balls, with mozzarella.
The main dishes include fettuccine Bolognese, bucatini all'Amatriciana, spaghetti alla carbonara, ricotta gnocchi, mushroom-asparagus-Parmesan cheese risotto, saltimbocca, roasted duck with peach sauce and basil-walnut wild rice, and roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and crisp artichoke.
Desserts, for which the next door Diane's bakery has garnered plenty of praise, are the chef's choices.
