This weekend Limani will be going all out for Easter. Starting on Saturday afternoon, whole lambs will be spit-roasted outside the restaurant. At midnight, dinner is served: Preceding the lamb will be mageiritsa (Greek Easter soup made from … lamb guts) or avgolemono, and an Easter salad. After the lamb and roast lemon potatoes, Greek desserts and koulourakia (Easter cookies). Also on the table will be tsoureki (Easter bread) and red-dyed Easter eggs for the traditional egg-tapping. The price is $80 per person.
On Sunday, Limani will serve its usual buffet brunch ($49.95) with seatings at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. From 4 p.m. onward, diners have their choice of the regular a la carte menu, or the traditional Easter dinner (see above) for $65.
This is Limani’s first Easter without its founding chef Peter Spyropoulos. According to general manager Franco Sukaj, Spyropoulos left about a month ago. No new executive chef has been named.
Limani is at 1043 Northern Boulevard, Roslyn, 516-869-8989.
