Massapequa’s bastion of Mediterranean cool will get even cooler when Salumi Tapas & Wine Bar hosts its oyster and pintxos party on July 13.
For $45 per person (including tax and tip) guests can eat their fill of oysters and pintxos (small, skewered, Spanish snacks — tiny tapas on toothpicks) and drink their (responsible) fill of oyster-friendly wines.
Co-owner Lilly Kanarova said that she won’t know until the last minute what the exact oyster situation will be, but she is hoping to serve raw, smoked and fried oysters from Saint Simon (New Brunswick, Canada), Wellfleet and Standish Shore (both Massachusetts).
Wines will all be Spanish: cava, Txakolina, Albarino and three shades (red, white and rosé) of Rioja.
