Dell’Amore Pizzeria and Spaghetti House in Seaford is another post-Sandy rescue story. The little place, formerly Carmine’s Pizzeria, had been destroyed by the storm when it was bought by Scott Meisel. Meisel had cooking and management experience at such places as Aldo’s of Floral Park, 56th Fighter Group in Farmingdale and the Garden City Hotel.
After extensive renovation, the eatery opened this summer. Meisel described a pizzeria with a separate dining room that is modeled after an Italian courtyard. Table service is offered only Tuesday to Sunday night. Meisel named as his signature dishes veal Sorrentino ($17.95), made with eggplant, prosciutto, mozzarella and sherry wine butter sauce, pasta carbonara ($12.95), fettuccine Bolognese ($12.95) and frutta di mare, or mixed seafood over pasta ($18.95).
