Roger Montague, a career salesman who has been cooking barbecue at home for years, took his passion for the pit to another level by opening Smoking Sloe's.
This is an informal spot, where tables are covered in brown and white checkered vinyl and the food is ordered at the counter and brought to the table.
The big specialties, according to Montague, are barbecued baby back ribs and pulled pork. There's also barbecued chicken and beef brisket, as well as an assortment of side dishes - corn bread, cole slaw, mac and cheese and sweet potato fries.
Although much of the business is takeout, delivery is also available locally. Which means that a rack of ribs and a pulled pork sandwich can be yours for the dialing.
