After three hours of  driving, a happy hour of oysters and brews sounds very, very good. You'll find it at South Edison in Montauk.

Blue Points on the half-shell go for $1 and Blue Point beers for $3 on Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. this month. The lobster buns, spiked with black garlic mayo; house-made pickles; and fresh sunchoke chips will help, too.

There also are other varieties of oysters available. Tried “Montauk pearls” the other day out east. Very good little locals, slightly briny, grown by the Montauk Shellfish Company. They'd go with a margarita.

Shellfish + beer = happy hour.
