Spuntino Wine Bar & Tapas in Garden City is serving a truffle-themed dinner through Nov. 30, with a percentage of the revenue going to No Kid Hungry.
No Kid Hungry is aimed at eliminating hunger among children in the United States through programs that provide meals at school, after school, in summer and at community centers, and that aid parents in food skills education.
Spuntino will donate $1 per dish or $5 when diners order the five-course tasting menu highlighting Burgundy truffles, which are harvested from late September to December in Europe, especially in France and Italy.
The cost of the tasting menu is $60 per person, or $80 with wine pairing.
The courses include mushroom risotto with shaved black truffles, cannelloni with burrata cheese and shaved black truffles, warm truffle and farro salad, mini osso buco with truffle-potato puree, and chocolate cheesecake with black truffle-Chantilly cream.
Wine pairings are a Gavi with the salad, Arneis with cannelloni, Barbera with risotto, Barbaresco with osso buco, and Brachetto Spumante with dessert.
Share Our Strength, a national nonprofit working with No Kid Hungry, has estimated that one in six American children faces hunger.
