Stony Brook: Easter dinner @ Mirabelle

Mirabelle, the plum of Long Island's French-American restaurants, will offer a four-course dinner on Easter Sunday. Cost: $59 per person, plus tax and tip. The dinner will be served from 3 to 8 p.m.

Chef Guy Reuge's menu includes such appetizers as asparagus salad with a coulis of spring peas and shavings of Serrano ham; basil-scented gnocchi with tomato flan and goat-cheese cream; a shrimp "trilog" with shellfish beer-batter fried, smoked and in bisque; and warm goat cheese atop greens for a $3 supplement.

Main dishes include cranberry-mustard crusted rack of lamb; seared filet of beef with wild mushroom ragout and Madeira sauce ($5 supplement); roasted chicken; and pan-baked trout. Desserts range from the house's classic ginger-almond tart to raspberry sorbet with macerated strawberries, tiramisu to lemon souffle tart.

Mirabelle, situated in the Three Village Inn, earned a four-star rating in Newsday.
