"Sweet Mama" is the fictional embodiment of down-home cooking and hospitality. "Mama's" place looks as though it could have been designed for Donna Reed - sunny yellow, blue and white decor, checkered cloths, '50s music playing in the background. Breakfast is the main meal here (great omelets and oatmeal), with lunch and dinner close seconds.

Recalling the diner experience of yesteryear, this '50s-themed eatery is awash in bright whites, bar stools that swivel and other touches that create an all-ages, family-friendly atmosphere. And just as the decor recalls a heady time in America’s recent past, the menu also recalls the days when cholesterol and calories never stood in the way of your meal selection. The breakfast choices involve pancakes, waffles and lots and lots of egg -- although some very modern wraps make the grade as well. Lunch and dinner are also full of hearty edibles, with mac 'n’ cheese, meatloaf, pot roast, surf-n-turf and shepherd’s pie ready to roll. To close, sundaes and cakes are there just as they were back in the good old days -- and those who really remember the times will certainly appreciate the "Frosted Chocolate Malt" option.
