Another chapter has been written in the continuing saga of the Syosset restaurant once known as 516. Its sign and logo notwithstanding, the place is now called Americana Kitchen & Bar. Former ”Hell's Kitchen” contestant chef Trevor McGrath is no longer in this kitchen; currently at the helm is Helmer Velasquez, former executive chef of Cirella’s in Melville.
Signature dishes include a starter of Key West crabcakes ($13), an entree of pan-seared Atlantic salmon with fresh pea pods over celery root mash ($24), and at lunch, a pulled-pork hero ($12), a Cobb salad ($12) and a Dagwood sandwich ($13).
