So, it's the Giants facing the Packers. Pick your cheese.
Wisconsin produces a lot of cheese, and the Packers inspire thousands of Cheeseheads, their fans who don what looks like a wedge of Swiss-style fromage for a hat.
But when it comes to Wisconsin, I'm partial to Vince Lombardi and Bart Starr more than the current crew, and to sausage more than cheese, specifically those wursts from Usinger's in Milwaukee. Maybe the new wave Packer fans should be called Meatheads instead.
That's because, cheesewise, New York has to be a prohibitive favorite for the upcoming tailgate reverie. You could become a devoted Giants cheesehead just enjoying the tangy, creamy chevre from Catapano Dairy Farm in Peconic and the nutty Sigit from Mecox Bay Dairy in Bridgehampton. The state wins with local Cheddar, even ricotta and feta.
And the Packer backers really don't want to get into a brawl about beer, either.
Go Blue -- cheese and team, too.
