A creamy porcini mushroom risotto with black-truffle oil, a range of Berkshire pork dishes, a red snapper served with full-bodied peperonata and a moist salmon are among the ample reasons to visit Cafe Red in Kings Park, Peter Gianotti writes in today's Newsday. He gives the "instantly popular" restaurant two stars.

Joan Reminick gives two stars to Chicken Coop, a new restaurant in Valley Stream that specializes in Colombian cuisine. Reminick recommends trying the green plantain soup, flaky empanadas and entree serving of seviche.
