"Financially stressed epicures in search of solace will find it at Bistro 25," Joan Reminick writes in her review of the Sayville restaurant, which gets two-and-a-half stars. Try the appetizer of braised pork belly over corn pudding, above, the truffled mac and cheese or the grilled lamb porterhouse.

Peter Gianotti gives two stars to Left Coast Kitchen & Cocktails, a new gastropub in Merrick. "The best," he declares are the lobster roll, the "more long than short" rib, and "a fibrous, fine grilled strip steak."
