Joan Reminick visits Studio Grill in Selden, a New American restaurant that “makes a striking appearance: lofty industrial-style ceilings, coppery walls and dramatic lighting. The underlying surprise,” she writes, “is that you can eat very well for lots less than the decor would have you imagine.”

Peter Gianotti reviews Rockin’ Fish in Northport, a boisterous gastro-pub owned by Rob Haddow, who also runs East Northport’s Crossroads Café. The food may be uneven, but the beer is not. “Among the winners,” Gianotti writes, “are Brooklyn Lager, Captain Lawrence Kölsch, Dogfish Head Sah’tea, Empire Cream Ale and Keegan Ales Black Eye IPA .?.?. Flights are available, with four (4-ounce) minis for $9.”
