It’s been a good week for pasta. And pastrami.

Peter M. Gianotti awards two stars to Tony Colombos Italian Bistro in Rockville Centre, saying, “This buoyant restaurant keeps the river of red sauce running, adds a few tributaries and leads to some unlikely destinations.”

Joan Reminick also gives two stars to Mama Mia of Northport, where “it’s hard to decide between the fork-tender chicken or the lush and meltingly fine eggplant, both blanketed in molten mozzarella and a red sauce that manages to be at once brassy and mellow.”

And, after eating at kosher and kosher-style delis all over Long Island, Erica Marcus and Joan Reminick name their six favorites.
