It's the second year that Ralph Perrazzo, chef owner of BBDs - Beers Burgers Desserts in Rocky Point (and a Newsday All-Star Chef of 2014) will bring together a group of high-power chef pals and topnotch brews for a 10-course craft beer dinner, to be held at his restaurant on Wednesday, June 10, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. The event is a fundraiser for Hope House Ministries in Port Jefferson, which helps local people in crisis and in need. The cost of the dinner, $200 a person, will go entirely to the charity, since everything served is being donated.
Along with Perrazzo, participating chefs include Guy Reuge of Mirabelle in Stony Brook, Joe Murphy, pastry chef at Jean Georges in Manhattan, Mark Mebus, chef'-owner of Blackbirds Pizzeria in Philadelphia and Douglas Rodrigues, executive chef of the Tip Tap Room in Boston. Some of the nation's foremost breweries, located in Vermont, are contributing to the event, among them Hill Farmstead, The Alchemist, Zero Gravity and Otter Creek Brewing. Most of their beers are not readily available in New York.
