Peruvian rotisserie chicken meets up with Turkish doner kebab at the new — and global — Grill Junction in Hicksville. The counter-serve eatery, with seating for 12, was launched by Pakistan-born brothers Ish and Shiraz Khan. Chef Juan Aguilar hails from Lima, Peru.

Ish Khan, who left a career in information technology, said that he was traveling on business in Germany when he first encountered doner kebab, the Turkish version of gyro; it was love at first bite. Then, while in Virginia, he ate at a Peruvian rotisserie restaurant and became enamored of the chicken.

Ultimately, he and his brother decided to open an eatery to “bring these two flavors together.” Equipped with a vertical doner spit and a horizontal rotisserie, they created a junction of two grills — or grill junction.

The doner kebab they serve is outsourced from a local halal supplier and is available as a beef-lamb combination; it's also done with chicken. Get it as a sandwich (on pide, or Turkish bread, brought in from a local Turkish bakery), as a wrap, or in a bowl, all served with fries and a drink ($6.49 to $6.95). Peruvian chicken, served with two dipping sauces, fries and a drink, may be had in a variety of sizes, from a quarter chicken ($6.95) to two whole chickens ($34.95) with four sides and a 2-liter bottle of soda. Enough to feed about eight.
