Italian wines highlight a tasting dinner next Tuesday at Vitae in Huntington
The April 9 event starts at 7 p.m. Cost: $70 per person, plus tax and tip. Reservations are required.
Wine consultant Maureen Sossi, of Empire Wines, will be the guest speaker.
Chef Steven Del Lima's four-course dinner includes scallop escabeche with preserved lemon, cilantro-peach relish and salted lemon granita; Australian lamb "lollipops" with smoked-cherry risotto; bacon-wrapped Cedar River filet mignon; and a dolce Gorgonzola cheese pudding with lemon honey and macerated berries.
The wines include a Nozzole Chianti Classico Riserva; Falanghina Donnachiara, a white; "La Luis" Albarossa, a nebbiolo-Barbera hybrid red; and Florus Late Harvest, a white muscat.
