Finding a good restaurant with a water view can be surprisingly hard on Long Island. It's as if proximity to water dilutes the quality of the food. But there are exceptions. Here are three.
A good-looking restaurant with a serene, waterside location, Prime has all kinds of appeal. Prime excels with steaks and seafood. Porterhouse, filet mignon, strip steak, rib eye, all recommended. Same for shellfish cocktails, lobsters, sushi rolls.
This one is aptly named, facing Great South Bay. Look for the tuna tartare, crab cocktail, Cantonese lobster with ginger-soy sauce, pepper-crusted yellowfin tuna, grilled Montauk swordfish, snail-shell shaped pasta with Dungeness crab, Beijing duck tacos.
A relative of Bistro Cassis in Huntington, Bistro Citron in Roslyn adds a pond-side location. Good steak frites, steak au poivre, frisée salad, roasted chicken for two, sole meunière, a Saturday special of braised short ribs and a Sunday coq au vin.
