Weekend dining: After pumpkin picking

This week's picks are pumpkins — and places where you can eat after, or before, picking them. Or buying them from the farm stand.

Here are three restaurants suitable for sustenance.

A Mano in Mattituck specializes in the basic food groups of pasta and antipasti, with some pizzas for company, too. Look for the pie starring Catapano Farm goat cheese, roasted garlic and marinated tomatoes. There are good salads, cheeses, cured meats, linguine with clam sauce, lasagna, and roasted duck breast.

A Mano, 13550 Main Rd. (Route 25), Mattituck; 631-298-4800.

Muse Restaurant & Aquatic Lounge in Water Mill is a playful, friendly New American eatery. Some favorites: "not ya mama's meatballs"; updated chicken potpie; and "breakfast for dinner," featuring pepper-and-Parmesan waffles.

Muse is in Water Mill Commons at 760 Montauk Hwy., Water Mill; 631-726-2606.

The Woodbury branch of Butera's isn't too far from some of Nassau's farm stands. Try a salad or a focaccia sandwich, rigatoni marinara or penne with chicken meatballs, eggplant Parmigiana or chicken Sorrentino. Other Butera's are in Seaford, Smithtown and Sayville.

Butera's is in the Woodbury Village shopping center, 7903 Jericho Tpke., Woodbury; 516-496-3633.
