Can you walk and eat at the same time? If you’re free Monday night, Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury is the place for you. That's where you'll find the 18th “Evening of Good Taste,” the culinary showcase to benefit the South Nassau Communities Hospital’s Cancer Program.
Your ticket entitles you to an all-you-can-eat buffet, provided by more than 60 local food-service providers. Restaurants scheduled to participate include Prime Catch in Rockville Centre, Trattachino in Wantagh, Café Buenos Aires in Huntington, Deli Boss in Roslyn Heights, Landmark Diner in Roslyn and Mio Posto in Oceanside.
Long Island bakeries include Taste of Syosset (whose owner Corina Elgart was a contestant on TLC’s "Next Great Baker"), Spiga Bakery in Bellmore, Marney Cakes (of Oceanside) and Sweet Karma of East Meadow. Also on hand, M Bynum Creations (the consulting group headed by Food Network's "Chopped" champion Marc Bynum), SerendipiTea of Manhasset, Prime Time Butcher (Woodbury, Roslyn Heights) whose “bliss sliders” were the highlight of last year’s event and, intriguingly, Trader Joe’s.
Also on hand will be wine merchants, breweries, students from area culinary programs and professional ice carvers.
Tickets can be purchased for $100 until 3 p.m. on Monday by calling 516-377-5360. At the door, tickets will be $150. Crest Hollow Country Club is at 8325 Jericho Tpke., Woodbury.
