You probably fondly remember your first car, whether it was new, almost new or a beaten-up hand-me-down. And chances are, as you cruised along Long Island's parkways and expressways, you spotted an expensive and beautiful car and thought, "Someday that will be mine."
Here's a chance to reawaken that lust for a car you will never own. Sachem Public Library in Holbrook is hosting "The Most Beautiful Cars Ever Built," a look at unique and unusual cars that were custom-built by some of the world's best car designers. The event is hosted by Roy Jaffe, a former senior stylist for General Motors. Jaffe will share photos of cars from as far back as the 1940s and show renderings of cars that never made it past the drawing board.
The free presentation is Monday at 7 p.m. For information or to register, call 631-588-5024.
