Discounts at farmers markets for low-income older residents

Low-income adults 60 and older can get $20 worth of coupons that can be used to help defray the cost of fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs at local farmers markets. The coupons are distributed by the counties in booklets as part of the New York State Farmers Market Nutrition Program. Each coupon booklet has five $4 coupons.

For more information about where to get the coupon books and income eligibility requirements, Nassau residents should call 516-227-8919. Suffolk residents should call 631-853-8200.

For a list of participating farmers markets in Nassau, go to nwsdy.li/farmnassau. In Suffolk, go to nwsdy.li/farmsuffolk. Most produce at the farmers markets in Nassau and Suffolk are locally grown.
