Catch up on local history and see some priceless works of art for next to nothing -- and in some cases, nothing at all.
Huntington Historical Society (631-427-7045, ext. 403), Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum (631-367-3418, ext. 16), Northport Historical Society (631-757-9859, ext. 301) and Heckscher Museum of Art (631-351-3250) are each hosting one "Senior Day" a month. The next Senior Day is Friday. Hosted by Huntington Historical Society, it features a tour of the historic Kissam house, built in 1795. Price is $4. Then, on June 5, the Whaling Museum presents a walking tour of Cold Spring Harbor's historic district for $4. On June 13, it's Heckscher Museum's turn with a free gallery tour. Northport Historical Society rounds out this rotation on June 21 with a gardens of Northport tour. Admission is $3.
