For New York sports fans 50 and older, the Knicks teams that won NBA championships in 1970 and 1973 trigger glorious memories. Although stocked with superstars, both teams were known for their unselfish play.
As part of the Gold Coast International Film Festival, a documentary about those teams will be screened at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Squire theater in Great Neck. "When the Garden Was Eden" includes a question-and-answer session with director Michael Rapaport. Tickets are $14; $12 for seniors. For more information, call 516-829-2570 or go to nwsdy.li/knicksfilm.
In conjunction with the documentary, the Gold Coast Arts Center next door, at 113 Middle Neck Rd., is holding an exhibition of basketball memorabilia on loan from the National Basketball Hall of Fame. On display are rare photos, game jerseys and the NBA Championship Trophy. The exhibition runs until Nov. 16. Admission is free. For information, go to goldcoastarts.org.
