Have you ever thought about how you'd look wearing a sparkling crown and holding a bouquet of flowers? Those accessories come with a sash that reads "Ms. New York Senior America."

Auditions for the Ms. New York Senior America pageant are next Saturday at the Massapequa Library. Pageant officials say they are looking for "gracious women 60 or older, who best exemplify the qualities of the modern dynamic senior." Singers, dancers and comedians are especially welcome.

If you'd like to audition, call pageant director Marleen Schuss at 516-678-3242 for an interview, or send an email to marleenschuss@aol.com. If you're accepted for an audition, the fee is $150, which covers the pageant and national competition, if you make it that far. You also can go to newyorksenioramerica.org.

The Ms. New York Senior America pageant is April 27 at Hofstra University. The winner moves on to the national Ms. Senior America competition in Atlantic City in October.
