Want to learn how to eat healthier, find a volunteer job, sign up for a computer class or get information on an array of other topics important to older adults? Head over to East Northport Library on Thursday, May 8.
The Senior Information Fair, organized by Suffolk County Legis. Robert Trotta (R-Fort Salonga), brings together experts from several local organizations and agencies. You can get tips on senior wellness from the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County, learn how to help frail and homebound seniors from the Family Service League and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, and get helpful brochures and other materials from Suffolk's Office for the Aging and the Town of Huntington. There also will be free blood-pressure screenings.
The fair runs 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and is free for all Long Island residents. No registration is required. For more information, call 631-261-2313.
