Forty years ago, the big summer book was "Love Story," Erich Segal's weepy novel. In the summer of 1980, sunbathers packed sunblock and Judith Krantz's "Princess Daisy" in their beach bags. The summer of 1990 belonged to Robert Ludlum's "The Bourne Ultimatum." In 2000, "Who Moved My Cheese?" by Spencer Johnson was the blockbuster.
If you're looking for ideas for that perfect reading list for this summer, Book Revue in Huntington is holding a Beach Read Party on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The bookstore's staff and fellow book lovers will recommend their hot picks and debate what makes a good summer read.
The event is free. Register by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. For more info, call 631-271-1442 or go to bookrevue.com.
