Tip: Ms. Senior NY America pageant in Lindenhurst

Shakespeare's Henry IV may have been uneasy about the head that wears the crown, but it will signal a joyful reign for the woman named Ms. Senior America. The first stop on that royal route takes place at 2 p.m. April 11 at Lindenhurst High School at the Ms. New York Senior America pageant.

While main auditions are over, the pageant is still looking for talented contestants. If you are 60 or older and want to be considered, call New York director Marleen Schuss at 516-795-5684 or send an e-mail to marleenschuss@aol.com. Those who pass the audition and want to advance must pay a $50 application fee. If you just want to cheer on the contestants, pageant tickets are $25. Call 631-249-0258.

The winner heads off to the national pageant in Atlantic City later this year. The national winner will succeed Gail King of Dix Hills.
