Visually impaired may find solutions at Suffolk fair

Those coping with severe vision loss can learn about the latest technologies and new resources that could make their lives easier.

"See for Yourself: 2015 Assistive Technology and Resource Fair" offers hands-on demonstrations of state-of-the-art magnification devices for those with low vision, and computers and reading machines for anyone who is blind. There also will be information about services and programs on Long Island for the visually impaired.

The fair is 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday, May 15 at the Suffolk Cooperative Library System's headquarters on North Sunrise Highway in Bellport. Admission is free.

Organizers can offer suggestions for transportation to the event; call 631-286-1600, ext. 1354. That number is also good for additional information, or email valerie@suffolknet.org.
