Long Island jobs: which sectors won or lost in June

Employment on Long Island was up by 12,100 jobs compared to a year ago, according to the state's Department of Labor estimate. Education and health services gained 8,300 jobs, leisure and hospitality gained 3,500 jobs and construction, natural resources and mining gained 3,200. The trade, transportation and utilities sector lost 6,400 positions. The chart shows the overall jobs levels for 10 sectors over time (click any dot for label and details), and the table below gives details for the 2016 and 2015 levels.
