A ticket sold in Indiana won the third-largest jackpot in Mega Millions history, worth $536 million, lottery officials announced Saturday morning.

The lone ticket, purchased at a Cambridge City, Indiana, gas station, captured the most winnings ever on a single ticket — with a cash prize of $378 million — after matching all six numbers that were drawn: 8, 19, 20, 55 and 73, with a Mega Ball 5.

For the third time this year, a Mega Millions win happened on the eighth day of the month, according to a news release issued by the lottery game.

“It was a great four-month run, resulting in millions of dollars being generated for beneficiaries across the country,” Paula Otto, executive director of the Virginia Lottery and lead director for the Mega Millions group, said in a statement. “Lucky 8 happened again, as the Mega Millions game had its third jackpot winner of the year on July 8, following winners on January 8 and March 8.”

Ten winning Match 5 tickets were also sold across the country, seven of them worth $1 million each: in Connecticut, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey and Oklahoma, according to the news release. Three included the optional Megaplier, making winnings in Colorado, Florida and Kansas worth $2 million each.

The highest Mega Millions jackpot sits at a $656 million win from March 30, 2012, when three tickets shared the pot, lottery officials said. The second-highest, at $648 million, was won on Dec. 17, 2013, split by two winners.
