A burglary was discovered at a Southwood Lane residence March 14. Entry was gained through an unlocked rear garage door. Cash and jewelry were reported stolen.
A man, 30, was arrested March 15 on Second Avenue and charged with petty larceny in connection to an earlier theft of a woman's purse in the parking lot of Pie at Salvatores Pizzeria on East Main Street. The purse contained two cell phones.
A lawn sculpture was stolen from an Illinois Avenue residence March 19.
A fight between two men at Mulcahy's Bar on Middle Country Road moved outside and into the adjacent McDonald's parking lot March 14. One man was injured and treated at Stony Brook University Medical Center.
Gasoline was stolen from a Strong Avenue gas station March 19.
A unknown person stole 106 assorted Major League Baseball hats from the LIDS store in The Arches shopping center March 14.
A prescription pad was stolen from the Perry Physical Medicine-Rehab on Deer Park Avenue March 18.
On March 18, a laptop, a purse and bookbags were stolen from an unlocked vehicle at a Gulf gas station at Route 110 and Conklin Avenue while the owner was inside the station.
An unknown person(s) entered Brooklyn Pizzeria on Portion Road March 14 from the business next door by way of an adjoining ceiling. A water pipe was broken in the process, setting off an alarm. The suspect(s) fled the scene.
A John Deere lawn mower, a trimmer and a rototiller were discovered stolen March 14 from a shed on 39th Street.
An electric welder was stolen from an unlocked garage on Moffitt Boulevard March 14.
The front glass door at Tina's II Restaurant & Pizzeria on East Main Street was smashed March 15. A cash register was stolen from the premises.
A Massapequa man, 41, was arrested March 18 at the Sky Motel on Third Avenue in Lindenhurst and charged with second-degree robbery in connection with the theft of a purse from a woman in West Babylon. The victim, 78, was walking to her vehicle in the Waldbaum's parking lot on Sunrise Highway earlier when the suspect grabbed her purse and pushed her, knocking her to the ground. He then fled in a 1996 Ford Explorer. Multiple witnesses gave descriptions of the robber and his vehicle. The woman was treated for a broken hip and broken elbow at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.
A wallet was stolen from a rear office at Petland Discounts on Route 27 March 14.
Purses were stolen from two vehicles on Sherman Avenue March 17.
An unoccupied home was ransacked March 14. Nothing was reported stolen.
A brick was thrown through the kitchen window of a house on Westfield Road March 14.
License plates were discovered missing from a van parked in a driveway on Miramar Avenue March 17.
A Coram man, 27, was arrested March 19 at the intersection of Argonne Road East and Canoe Place Road on charges of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to appear at court for a previous charge of same. He was initially stopped for disobeying a stop sign.
The front and rear driver's side windows of a 2002 Honda Civic parked in front of a residence on Hilden Street were discovered smashed March 14.
Two Honda 400 EX quads were stolen from the side yard of a Meadow Avenue house March 14.
A jackhammer was stolen from a 2005 Chevrolet parked on Jefferson Street March 14.
A vacant house on Sunset Drive was vandalized March 14. Several windows were broken and bathroom tiles and Sheetrock inside were damaged.
Tools were stolen March 14 from Universal Auto Repair on Route 112. The door of the business had been broken.
The front and rear doors of Combo Pizzeria on Northern Boulevard were discovered broken and the interior of the restaurant ransacked March 14.
A 2007 Honda Accord was stolen from the parking lot of Club Silk on Route 347 March 14.
