Reports from county or village police, Feb. 21-27


A Mitsubishi Galant on Essen Drive was stolen Feb. 22.


Windshield wiper blades were discovered missing Feb. 23 from a 1994 Buick on Wards Lane.

Bay Shore

A homeowner on Peters Boulevard told police an unknown person removed the screen from the kitchen window Feb. 23 and attempted to enter the house while the resident was at home. The person fled the scene.

A 2006 dirt runner mini-bike was discovered stolen Feb. 21 from a shed

on John Street.


A 2003 Nissan Murano on Sunrise Service Road North was stolen Feb. 25.


A diamond necklace was stolen from the Diamond Jewelers store on Middle Country Road Feb. 21. Police were told that the suspect fled the store on foot.

A pocketbook, Coach wallet, cash and personal papers were stolen from a 2001 Hyundai Sonata parked at McCarthy's Bar on Middle Country Road on Feb. 21. The driver-side window of the vehicle was broken.

Central Islip

Copper piping was discovered stolen Feb. 21 from an unoccupied house on Cranberry Street.

A burglar entered a residence on Magnolia Street on Feb. 22 through a side door and removed two wallets from the house.

Deer Park

Sweat pants and shirts were stolen from a store at The Arches shopping center Feb. 21.

Items were stolen from the Toy R Us store at the The Arches shopping center Feb. 22.


The window of a 1997 Saturn was discovered smashed Feb. 23. A GPS unit and a pocketbook were reported stolen from the vehicle.


Printing plates were stolen from Star Quality Printing on Engineers Road on

Feb. 23.

Boxes of Verizon cellular phones were stolen from a business on Rabro Drive on Feb. 23. The side door was pried open, and the wall-mounted alarm system was disabled during the burglary.

The owner of a 2006 Ford van, unaware that the vehicle had been stolen, was notified by police that the van was recovered in Hauppauge on Rabro Drive on Feb. 24.

A burglar entered a residence on Adrianne Lane on Feb. 24 and removed iPods, a MacBook Pro laptop, a Wii game console, controller and games, and

assorted jewelry.


A Nissan Sentra was stolen from the Tens Machine Co. parking lot on Grundy Avenue. The owner of the car left the unattended vehicle running.

An unlocked 2000 Toyota Avalon was stolen from the 7-Eleven parking lot on Broadway Avenue on Feb. 22 while the owner was inside the store buying coffee.

Islip Terrace

Copper piping was discovered missing Feb. 21 from a house under renovation on Dale Drive.

Lake Grove

Jewelry and a pocketbook were stolen from a house on Penn Street on Feb. 21.

North Babylon

A green 1995 Cadillac Eldorado parked on Deer Park Avenue was stolen Feb. 21.

A stereo and money were stolen from a vehicle parked on New York Avenue on Feb. 23.

West Babylon

Hunters' traps were stolen from the yard of a house on Deauville Park on Feb. 21.



An HP Laserjet printer was stolen from the Staples store on Jericho Turnpike Feb. 23. One person held the door open while another ran out of the store carrying the printer.

The driver-side window of a 2003 Mercury on Jericho Turnpike was broken Feb. 21. A GPS unit and a Sirius radio were stolen from the vehicle.

Dix Hills

Assorted pieces of jewelry were discovered stolen Feb. 21 from a residence on Half Hollow Road.

Garage door openers were discovered stolen Feb. 25 from two vehicles. Both vehicles, a 2009 Nissan and a 2006 BMW, were parked at a house on Truxton Road.

East Northport

The window of a 2001 Nissan Pathfider parked at Golds Gym on Larkfield Road was broken Feb. 23. A canvas bag containing miscellaneous papers was removed.

The lock of a utility trailer on Jericho Turnpike was discovered broken Feb. 21. A leaf blower and weed whacker stored in the trailer were reported stolen.

A Coach pocketbook containing money and gift cards was stolen from a vehicle parked at Retro Fitness gym on Jericho Turnpike on Feb. 23.

A homeowner on Christina Court discovered the house mailbox damaged Feb. 21 by an apparent explosion.


The front passenger-side window of a vehicle on Graystone Lane was discovered broken Feb. 24. A black leather brief case, a check book and miscellaneous personal papers were reported stolen.

St. James

Police were informed of a criminal- mischief incident involving property damage at a location on Jericho Turnpike on Feb. 25.
