Reports from county or village police, Jan. 17-23


An air compressor was stolen from a fenced yard at Land Tek on County Line Road Jon an. 17.


The passenger-side window of a 2004 Ford parked on Josselson Avenue was smashed Jan. 18. A GPS unit and a purse containing cash and credit cards were stolen from the vehicle.

Bay Shore

Cigarettes and juices were stolen from the Empire gas station on Fifth Avenue on Jan. 19.

A 1992 Honda Civic was stolen from the JC Penney parking lot on Sunrise Highway on Jan. 21.


A 1989 Chrylser was discovered missing Jan. 21 from a driveway on Locust Street.

Central Islip

A radio was stolen from a vehicle on Wilson Boulevard on Jan. 22.

Assorted jewelry and a game console were stolen from a house on Peters Boulevard on Jan. 22. The burglar entered the residence by prying open the front door.


A pocketbook containing cash, a cell phone and keys, was stolen from the back of a chair at Eleanor's Lounge on North Service Road on Jan. 23.


A man ran out of the Rite Aid pharmacy on Merrick Road on Jan. 19 without paying for extension cords.

East Islip

Scrap metal was stolen from containers located on the property of Ray the Plumber on Sunrise Highway on Jan. 17.


Twenty gallons of diesel fuel were stolen from a Caterpillar construction vehicle at a location on Plant Avenue on Jan. 19.


A pocketbook containing cash and credit cards was stolen from the Pathmark supermarket on Sunrise Highway on Jan. 19.

A burglary was discovered Jan. 20 at the Town of Islip Recycle Center's scale house on Lincoln Avenue. The window was shattered, and the cash register removed.


A Central Islip man, 31, was arrested at the Stop and Shop supermarket on Route 454 on Jan. 20 and charged with petty larceny for stealing assorted grocery items.

A purse containing credit cards was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of Dave & Buster's on Veterans Memorial Highway on Jan. 23.

Islip Terrace

A wooden fence of a residence on Redmen Street was marked with graffiti Jan. 21.

Lake Grove

A 17-year-old male was arrested at Sears in Smith Haven Mall on Jan. 18 and charged with petty larcency. He is charged with stealing a wallet from the store.

Lake Ronkonkoma

Down spouts were discovered stolen Jan. 18 from gutters at K.A.M. Maintenance Corp. on Hawkins Avenue.


A woman told police her pocketbook was stolen as she was loading groceries into her vehicle on Route 112 on Jan. 18. The pocketbook contained cash, a driver license and a Social Security card.

North Lindenhurst

Police were informed of an incident of criminal mischief to a toilet at the Applebee's restaurant on North Wellwood Avenue on Jan. 19.

A person reported seeing three youths running from a residence on North Erie Avenue on Jan. 19. Cash was reported stolen from the house.


A yellow go-kart was discovered stolen Jan. 21 from the rear yard of a residence on Farmadie Drive.


A mailbox was discovered damaged Jan. 17 at a house on Marlene Drive.

West Babylon

Beer was stolen from the Stop and Shop grocery store on Golding Avenue on Jan. 17.

A woman entered the Chase Bank on West Montauk Highway on Jan. 19 and said she was robbed of cash by a man outside the bank.

A 1994 Nissan Maxima parked on Commander Avenue was stolen Jan. 17. The vehicle was left running with the doors open.

West Bay shore

A GPS unit was reported stolen Jan. 23 from a vehicle on Ridgeway Boulevard.


Cold Spring Harbor

A cell phone was discovered stolen Jan. 19 from an unlocked vehicle on South Run.


A burglary was discovered Jan. 19 at Anjon of Northport auto repair shop on Route 25A. A window was broken to gain entry. Nothing was reported stolen.
