A 39-year-old Coram man was arrested late Thursday, charged with drunken driving, after crashing his 2006 Ford Mustang into a utility pole in Farmingville, Suffolk County police said.

Paul McFadden was arrested at 11:50 p.m., shortly after he lost control on eastbound Mooney Pond Road, snapping the utility pole and knocking down wires, police said. The car sustained significant front-end damage. Police said McFadden was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

McFadden was charged with driving while intoxicated and faces arraignment Friday in First District Court in Central Islip.
